The frequency range of electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye corresponds to the range of wavelengths known as the visible spectrum. The visible spectrum ranges from approximately 400 to 700 nanometers (nm) in wavelength.
Different colors are associated with different wavelengths within this range. The shortest wavelengths, around 400 nm, correspond to violet light, while the longest wavelengths, around 700 nm, correspond to red light. In between, the visible spectrum includes colors such as blue, green, yellow, and orange.
It's important to note that although humans can perceive electromagnetic radiation within the visible spectrum, other animals may have different ranges of vision. Some animals, like certain birds and insects, can see ultraviolet or infrared light, which extends beyond the visible spectrum.
