Albert Einstein's first job after completing his education was as a technical expert, third class, at the Swiss Patent Office in Bern, Switzerland. He started working there in June 1902, and it was during his time at the patent office that he made some of his groundbreaking scientific discoveries. While working in the patent office, Einstein developed his theory of special relativity, which he published in 1905, revolutionizing our understanding of space, time, and motion. Despite his initial position as a patent examiner, Einstein's scientific contributions and genius would propel him to become one of the most renowned physicists in history.
