We have yet to develop a comprehensive theory that unifies general relativity (describing gravity on large scales) with quantum mechanics (describing phenomena on small scales).

The nature of black holes, including their extreme gravitational forces and singularities, presents significant obstacles for manipulating or interacting with them.
