The solar system consists of the Sun and the celestial bodies that orbit around it, including planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and other smaller objects. there are officially eight planets recognized in our solar system. They are:
- Mercury
- Venus
- Earth
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
Pluto, which was previously considered the ninth planet, was reclassified as a dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 2006. While Pluto is still a fascinating and important object in the Kuiper Belt region, it is not considered one of the traditional planets of our solar system.
