    c. Transform Boundaries: Transform boundaries occur when two plates slide horizontally past each other. The movement of plates along these boundaries can cause significant stress accumulation and sudden release, resulting in earthquakes.

  3. Intraplate Activity: While most earthquakes occur near plate boundaries, seismic activity can also occur within plates, away from plate boundaries. These are known as intraplate earthquakes and can be associated with ancient faults, localized stress fields, or volcanic activity.
