While table salt (sodium chloride) is indeed an electrolyte, it is not the only electrolyte, nor does it provide all the necessary electrolytes required by the body. Electrolytes can be obtained from various dietary sources, including fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and other foods containing minerals. In addition, specialized electrolyte solutions or drinks are available to replenish electrolytes during times of intense physical activity, sweating, or illness.
