If you were traveling in a vehicle fast enough to break the sound barrier, you would not hear the sonic boom from inside the vehicle. The sonic boom is the sound produced by an object moving through the air at a speed faster than the speed of sound. However, the sound waves generated by the object would not be able to catch up to you inside the vehicle because you are already traveling faster than those sound waves. Therefore, you would not perceive the sonic boom.

On the other hand, if you were outside the vehicle and within range of the sonic boom, you would hear it as a loud and sharp noise. The sonic boom is created when the pressure waves that build up around an object as it moves through the air rapidly dissipate after the object passes. This rapid dissipation results in a sudden, intense sound wave known as the sonic boom.
