The statement that the speed of sound is the same as the speed of light is not accurate. In reality, the speed of light is significantly faster than the speed of sound.

The speed of light in a vacuum is approximately 299,792,458 meters per second. Light travels at such an immense speed that it can travel around the Earth's equator about 7.5 times in just one second.

On the other hand, the speed of sound is much slower and depends on the medium through which it travels. In air at room temperature, sound travels at approximately 343 meters per second. This means that sound takes about 5 seconds to travel 1 mile.

Due to the significant difference in speed, light reaches our eyes almost instantaneously when compared to sound reaching our ears. This is why we typically see things before we hear them. For example, when observing a distant lightning strike, you see the flash of light almost immediately, while the sound of thunder takes a few seconds to reach your ears.

So, it's important to remember that the speed of sound is much slower than the speed of light, and that's why we perceive visual stimuli before auditory stimuli in most situations.
