To add your own sound to a TikTok video and record yourself over it, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the TikTok app on your device and tap the "+" button at the bottom center of the screen to create a new video.

  2. On the recording screen, you'll find several options at the right side of the screen. Look for the "Sounds" option (represented by a music note icon) and tap on it.

  3. In the Sounds menu, you can either browse through the available soundtracks, search for specific songs, or tap on the "My Sound" option to access the sounds saved on your device.

  4. Select the original sound you want to use by tapping on it. TikTok will automatically load the sound and display its waveform.

  5. Once you have the sound selected, you can adjust the start and end points of the sound clip by dragging the handles on the waveform.

  6. Tap the checkmark button to confirm the sound selection and return to the recording screen.

  7. Now, you can record your video while the original sound is playing. Hold down the record button and speak or perform along with the sound. You can pause and resume recording as needed.

  8. Once you're done recording, you can add any other effects, filters, or edits to your video using the available TikTok tools.

  9. Finally, tap the Next button at the bottom-right corner of the screen. This will take you to the video editing screen, where you can add captions, stickers, and make further adjustments if desired.

  10. When you're satisfied with the video, tap on the Next button again. You can now add a caption, hashtags, and choose your desired privacy settings.

  11. Tap on the Post button to share your TikTok video with your added sound to your profile and the TikTok community.

By following these steps, you should be able to record yourself over your original sound and upload both the video and the sound together as a TikTok post.
