Venus is the planet that rotates anticlockwise, or retrograde, around the Sun. Most planets, including Earth, rotate in the same direction as they orbit the Sun, which is counterclockwise when viewed from above the Sun's north pole. However, Venus is an exception to this rule. It rotates on its axis from east to west, which is opposite to its orbital motion around the Sun. This means that on Venus, the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
