The boundary around a black hole where not even light can escape is called the event horizon. The event horizon represents the point of no return, beyond which anything, including light, is trapped by the intense gravitational pull of the black hole. Once an object or a beam of light crosses the event horizon, it is believed to be irretrievably drawn into the black hole's singularity, the infinitely dense core at the center of the black hole.
