The time it takes for light to travel from one star to another depends on the distance between the stars and the speed of light. Since the speed of light is approximately 299,792 kilometers per second (or about 186,282 miles per second), we can use this value to calculate the time it takes for light to cover a given distance.

For example, if two stars are located 10 light-years apart, it would take light 10 years to travel from one star to the other. Similarly, if the distance is 100 light-years, it would take light 100 years to traverse that distance.

Keep in mind that when we observe stars or objects in the night sky, we are essentially observing them as they appeared in the past since light takes time to reach us. The farther away an object is, the further back in time we are observing it.
