According to our current understanding of physics, it is not possible for an object with mass, such as a human being, to travel to a distant planet that is 500 light-years away and arrive there within a human lifetime.

As an object with mass accelerates towards the speed of light, its relativistic mass increases, and the energy required to accelerate it further also increases. As an object with mass approaches the speed of light, its energy requirements become infinite. This is known as the relativistic mass increase and is governed by Einstein's theory of special relativity.

Additionally, even if one were able to travel at a significant fraction of the speed of light, time dilation would occur. From the perspective of the traveler, time would pass more slowly, but for the observer on Earth, time would continue at its normal rate. This means that while the traveler might experience a shorter duration of time, thousands of years could pass on Earth.

Therefore, traveling to a planet that is 500 light-years away and arriving within a human lifetime is currently beyond the realm of possibility based on our current understanding of physics. The vast distances and limitations imposed by the laws of physics make interstellar travel a significant challenge.
