I apologize for the incorrect statement in my previous response. Nitrogen does have valence electrons.

Nitrogen (N) is located in Group 15 of the periodic table, also known as the "nitrogen group" or "p-block." It has a total of 5 valence electrons. The electronic configuration of nitrogen is 1s² 2s² 2p³.

Valence electrons are the electrons in the outermost energy level (also known as the valence shell) of an atom. These electrons are involved in chemical bonding and determine the atom's reactivity and ability to form chemical compounds. In the case of nitrogen, the 2s² and 2p³ orbitals contain the 5 valence electrons, which are available for bonding with other atoms.
