The element with one valence electron is hydrogen (H). Hydrogen has a single electron orbiting its nucleus in the first energy level (n=1). Since hydrogen has only one electron, that electron is considered to be a valence electron. The valence electron of hydrogen is involved in its chemical bonding and determines its reactivity.
