The electromagnetic spectrum consists of a wide range of waves, ordered by their wavelengths. The waves with the shortest wavelengths are known as gamma rays. Gamma rays have the highest frequency and carry the most energy among all types of electromagnetic waves. They have wavelengths shorter than X-rays, ultraviolet (UV) rays, visible light, infrared (IR) radiation, microwaves, and radio waves.
