The atomic mass of an element is an intrinsic property and does not affect the name of the element itself. The name of an element is determined by its atomic number, which remains constant for each element. Hydrogen has an atomic number of 1, and its name will always be "hydrogen" regardless of any changes in its atomic mass. However, different isotopes of hydrogen, such as deuterium and tritium, have different atomic masses and are distinguished by their names.
